Book Reviews
Just a few personal favorites of photography books read lately, more detailed descriptions can be found on the Amazon links below:
Henri Cartier-Bresson: The Man, The Image, The World
Henri Cartier-Bresson is a personal favorite of mine (and probably most other photographers as well). With over 600 great photos spanning well over 50 years, this is a fascinating book. One of the greatest influences on photography in general.
Alfred Stieglitz: The Key Set - Volume I & II: The Alfred Stieglitz Collection of Photographs
Alfred Stieglitz is another pioneer of photography. I ordered this book without a clue what I was really getting. It is a massive beautifully bound set that is worthy of a collectors item. Regardless the photos are great and although the price may seem a little high initially when you get the 100 lb (ok, maybe it's 50 lb's but it's a monster) set you will see that is actually quite a bargain.
The Moment it Clicks - by Joe McNally
The last book I'm mention is a little more current photographer guru named Joe McNally. If you want to learn some tricks on lighting Joe is the master. Plus, unlike most photography books, it's darn amusing to read. Joe had a great style and I wish the book would have been longer since he tells some great stories behind the scenes.
